Project Management Courses and Qualifications

Project management is an essential skill for today's manager. Whether it be managing distinct or cyclical projects, the ability to manage resources, people, budgets and time is paramount.

The Australian Institute of Management offers practical Project Management courses and qualifications to suit all levels of your career. You can undertake stand alone courses or a complete a qualification endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management, in either face-to-face or online format.

Project Management Courses

If you are seeking an overview or introduction to the concept project management or how to manage workplace projects, AIM offers two popular options:

• Manage Projects - a 1 day course that introduces frontline managers to the introductory concepts related to managing workplace project
  
• Project Management Fundamentals - a 2 day course that explores project management in greater depth using a scope, time and cost perspective. This course is designed for those who do not wish to complete a qualification but require a solid grounding in project management.

We also offer a series of nationally accredited courses which can be taken as stand alone units or as part of a Certificate IV or Diploma of Project Management.

Project Management Qualifications

AIM offers a Certificate IV in Project Management (BSB41504) and a Diploma of Project Management (BSB51504). In 2010, AIM will also offer an Advanced Diploma in Project Management.

The Project Management qualifications are offered in three formats:

• Standard format - you choose from available dates and topics from AIM's course calendar and attend classes at the Institute's premises in Spring Hill, Brisbane
• Intensive format - you study in shorter, concentrated sessions at the Institute's premises in Spring Hill, Brisbane
• Online format - you study in your own time and pace with AIM Online at home or at your workplace

Undertaking a qualification requires you to complete assessment pieces. The assessment includes a report on a workplace project so you will need to ensure you have access to an actual project.
