Contract Management

Overview

This program addresses the knowledge and skills required to manage a contract after the contract has been agreed to and is in place. It focuses on managing the agreement made between the supplier and the organisation and on ensuring the contract is delivered efficiently, on time and within budget. Contract variations, contract monitoring and contract evaluation are considered also.

Designed For

Those who are charged with managing a contract once it is in place including project, contract and change managers. This could include those who were responsible for negotiating the contract or those who have been charged with managing a contract for goods or services negotiated by others.

Content

• Understand the nature of a contract, contract terms and conditions
• Monitor supplier performance throughout the duration of agreements
• Identify, monitor and manage risks throughout the duration of agreements
• Identify and address potential and actual contract performance issues
• Negotiate and resolve amendments to agreements as a consequence of addressing performance issues
• Identify and investigate causes of disagreements with suppliers and assess their validity
• Negotiate and resolve disagreements and document amendments to agreements as a consequence of the resolution of disagreements
• Communicate approved amendments to suppliers and relevant personnel
• Confirm and document all supplier obligations as having been met prior to agreements being finalised
• Evaluate supplier performance against the requirements of purchasing agreements
• Makerecommendations about future use of suppliers to relevant personnel
