Assessing Training

Overview

This program gives an overview of the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) system to ensure an understanding is developed for “how” competency assessments align with the training framework in Australia. By the conclusion of this program participants will develop the knowledge and skills to confidently plan, organise, conduct and validate assessment tools and interpret Training Packages and units of competency.

Designed For

Trainers, consultants, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) personnel, human resource specialists, managers, frontline managers and others responsible for assessing competency in the workplace.

• Planning the assessment
  
• Selecting and/or developing appropriate assessment tools
  
• Developing an assessment plan
  
• Conducting assessment in the context of National Training Packages
  
• Assessing competence and recording results
  
• Understanding the process of validation
  
• Conducting a practical session on this content

These units of competency contribute to the completion of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
