This unit provides the theory and tools to assess and monitor operational performance and develop plans to achieve operational success. The main theme of the program is continuous improvement in all operational processes.

Middle or senior managers who have either an undergraduate degree or significant managerial experience and want to take their skills to the next level.

- Identify and analyse the process of organisational planning
- Analyse organisational structural patterns
- Assess the relevant models in developing an operations plan
- Understand manufacturing processes and their application
- Understand and evaluate the reasons why strategic business plans often fail to be implemented
- Understand and apply the concept of customer satisfaction and its measurement
- Explain the key concepts in performance measurement and identify the links between individual and team performance
- Develop appropriate criteria in measuring the links between job performance, organisational processes and customer needs
- Understand and apply the concepts of Best Practice, Quality Framework and Quality Management
Assessment
Assessment includes a combination of class participation, projects and reports.
Written assessment tasks are based primarily on the student's organisational context and experience. Assessment is at postgraduate level and requires academic referencing and evidence of having read and synthesised the literature.
Relationship to Qualification
Students who successfully complete this program and accompanying assessments will be granted credit towards the Graduate Diploma Management Innovation.
